Meridian’s annual Fam Fest is a free Health & Fun Fair and Safety Town along with the Ducky Derby Race Against Child Abuse held at the Suzanne Gresham Center. Fam Fest provides free health screenings, entertainment, health and wellness information and fun activities for attendees of all ages. Within Fam Fest is the Health Hub where the area’s best health and safety exhibitor are conveniently arranged so attendees can get the information quickly and efficiently while seeing presentations form the Education Stage. Safety Town is a miniature version of the City of Muncie focused on teaching kids how to be safe citizens. Kids travel through Safety Town learning about traffic safety, internet safety, financial wellness and staying safe from substance use.
The Ducky Derby Race Against Child Abuse raises money and awareness for the Child Advocacy Center (CAC), a division of Meridian Health Services that helps improve the lives of children and families through counseling, family assistance, medical care and child abuse/neglect recovery. The Child Advocacy Center (CAC) is one of only four centers in the state that has full, national accreditation by the National Children’s Alliance. It is the only CAC housed within a children’s treatment center, providing counseling to aid in recovery.
